When Frank Sinatra comes to town, Mikey, an intrepid small-town Canadian fan, decides to sneak backstage and catch a glimpse of his hero. Their unlikely meeting sparks a lively evening of laughter, song and story which celebrates the life and music of one of the most celebrated entertainers of the Twentieth Century. Artist Biographies
Andrew Scanlon, Playwright, Frank
Andrew is a returning Smile performer who starred in last season’s Radio Daze as well as three installments of Tom Kneebone’s Made in Canada cabaret series. Recently Andrew has been seen in Much Ado About Nothing (Driftwood Theatre) and Dogbarked (Globe Theatre), as well as performing in Over the River and Through the Woods (Globe Theatre), and War (Magnus Theatre) and Cotton Patch Gospel (Georgian Theatre Festival). His first work as a playwright, Come Fly With Me, premiered in 2006 at The Showboat Festival.
Mark Allan, Mikey
Mark is so happy to be performing for all of you again. The last time you saw him performing here was in Girl Crazy. Most recently he was baring it all at Stagewest in The Full Monty. Mark has been performing all over Canada and the U.S.A. for the past 13 years, and truly believes that “Smile” audiences are the warmest and most appreciative audiences he has ever played for! He is very excited to be working with such great people on this show. He dedicates his performance to the memory of his friend Tom Kneebone. Miss you T.K.!
Bill Brillinger, Stage Manager
Bill is pleased to be returning to Smile for his fifth season, after finishing last season with Queen of the Mist.

Carson Thomas (Tom Carson), Director
Tom Carson is proud to be the General & Artistic Manager of the wonderful Smile Theatre. As a director, his work has appeared across Canada, winning the hearts of audiences from Montreal to Vancouver. He has received critical acclaim as well, including three nominations for “Outstanding Production – Theatre For Young Audiences” at Toronto’s prestigious Dora Awards. Tom also writes for the stage, as well as poetry for young children, and runs Carson Academy, a theatre school for kids in Halton Region. He is married to wife, Stephanie and has a son, Jonah and a daughter, Samantha. He lives in Milton, Ontario.
