Artist Biographies
Sarah Blair Irwin, Actor
Blair is honoured to be a part of The Twilight Cabaret with such a lovely bunch of people. She has performed all over Canada and in New York City. A few favourite credits include: Emily in Emily, Anne in Anne of Green Gables, Cinderella in Into the Woods, Nellie in Floyd Collins, and her own one-woman show entitled Just Call Me Blair. This summer Blair is going to be performing in More Broadway Treasures at the Red Barn Theatre. She is currently writing a musical entitled Roomie with a View with her friends, Andrew Chandler and Jonathan Monro. Special thanks to Tom for inviting her to play and to all of her friends for being simply remarkable. Enjoy the show!
Eric Morin, Actor
Eric is beyond excited to be bringing great theatre to senior citizens in his second show this season with Smile Theatre, having previously appeared in The Great Farini. Other esteemed credits include; Ryerson: Jason Sherman’s Canadian premiere Enemies (Sintsov), The Hostage (Russian Soldier/ Choreographer), Walking on Water (Neil Griffin), and King Richard III (King Richard). RWCMD: The Libertine (George Etherege), and Merrily We Roll Along (Jerome/Dance Captain). Drayton Entertainment: Annie Get Your Gun, The Boyfriend, and The Music Man. The Grand Theatre: West Side Story (Riff/ Baby John), and Guys and Dolls. Eric is a proud graduate of the Ryerson Theatre School Training Program, and also attended the prestigious Royal Welsh College of Drama and Music as an international exchange student. Enjoy the show!
Scott Kurchak, Stage Manager
Scott is truly excited to be Stage Manager for Smile Theatre. A working professional Actor/Director/Stage Manager since 1980 in Canada and the USA, Scott’s recent Stage Manager credits include over 10 productions with Theatre of Youth Company in Buffalo, NY. In 1989, as an actor, Scott had an amazing experience working with Tom Kneebone and Smile Theatre in Madam Butterfly – The Mini Version.
Carson Thomas (Tom Carson), Writer & Director
Tom Carson is proud to be the General & Artistic Manager of the wonderful Smile Theatre for one last show. As a director, his work has appeared across Canada, winning the hearts of audiences from Montreal to Vancouver. He has received critical acclaim as well, including three nominations for “Outstanding Production – Theatre For Young Audiences” at Toronto’s prestigious Dora Awards. Tom also writes for the stage, as well as poetry for young children, and runs Carson Academy, a theatre school for kids in Halton Region. He is married to wife, Stephanie and has a son, Jonah and a daughter, Samantha. He lives in Milton, Ontario.
Sheree Tams, Set & Costume Designer
Sheree is very excited to be returning to Smile for her fourth show, having recently designed Fever, The Great Farini and Gift of the Magi & Other Stories. Other recent design credits include Slavery, a national UK tour for Tara Arts, Get Away at the Old Red Lion Theatre Pub in London, and Will the Real JT Leroy Please Stand Up? at Buddies in Badtimes Theatre. www.shereetams.com
Allison Plamondon, Choreographer
This is Allison’s third show for Smile Theatre, having also choreographed Radio Daze and The Great Farini. Choreography highlights: Street Re-Stamped for Something Wonderful (Charlottetown Festival), the Canadian premiere of Hello Again (Tarragon Theatre/Extra Space), and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (Fallen Rock), Performance favourites: Fire and Anne of Green Gables (Charlottetown Festival), Aladdin (Elgin Theatre), and West Side Story (Stage West). Allison has been on the faculty at Sheridan College and Randolph Academy. She is now based in New York where she teaches Tap dance, pursues acting, and performs with Germaine Salsberg and Les Femmes. Recent NY appearances: American Tap Dance Foundation New Tap Choreography Showcase, Impact Theater One Act Festival, and Dancers Responding to Aids (New Jersey).
Jeanine Noyes, Musical Director
Jeanine is delighted to be back for her fourth Smile Theatre production this season after Gift of the Magi & Other Stories, The Great Farini and Fever. Jeanine previously worked with Tom Carson for three seasons at Brookstone Theatre in 2000 Candles. Nominated for Dora Awards in the categories of Outstanding Musical Direction and Outstanding Performance by a Female in a Lead Role for her work in A Dixie Gospel (Brookstone Theatre), Jeanine also writes and performs her own music in Ontario, and just recently returned from her third tour in Germany. Her two solo releases are transparent and a Christmas CD called He’s Here, which was nominated for a Shai Award.
