Smile’s Concert Show

Take a musical stroll down Memory Lane as we present a tribute concert to some of the greatest composers, singers and musicals of our time. From Cole Porter to Gershwin, Rodgers and Hammerstein to Irving Berlin. You’ll hear many of your favorite tunes including: Some Enchanted Evening, Embraceable You, It’s Delovely, My Heart Belongs to Daddy, and Summertime. Show Stoppers highlights songs made famous by the legendary divas such as Ella Fitzgerald, Peggy Lee, Dinah Washington and Mary Martin, and is a collection of sing-a-long favourites, all delightfully rendered by the talented duo of Sandra Margolese and Brian Hayman.

The Artists
Sandra Margolese, Creation & Vocals
Over the past several years, Sandra has had the good fortune to work with Director/Actor/Playwright Tom Kneebone on productions with the Smile Theatre, touring to senior audiences throughout Ontario. Most recently, she directed Tonight We Raid Berlin for Smile. This wonderful Smile experience was the inspiration for her own production, Show Stoppers. Other theatrical credits include: over five years as the “Princess” and “Carlotta” understudy in The Phantom of the Opera at Toronto’s Pantages Theatre. Sandra also spent several seasons at the Drayton Festival in Vaudeville, Pirates of Penzance, and The Mikado. She has recorded a Jazz CD produced and arranged by Peter Mann and was featured at the Oakville Jazz Festival, Waterfront Festival and The Arbour Café. Sandra can also be heard performing her original pop/folk tunes on This Old Harbour Town CD.

Brian Hayman, Keyboard
Brian is an organization development consultant and President of “Getting in the Groove”, a unique entertainment and learning experience that explores the knowledge behind the magic of jazz improvisation and it’s implications for enhancing organizational performance. He is also an accomplished pianist and member of The Oakville Jazz Ensemble, performing regularly at The Arbour Café and a variety of venues throughout Southern Ontario.
