Canada in Love
January 25 to March 26, 2011
A lively song and dance show featuring many of the best, funniest and most famous Canadian love songs. From “I’ll Never Smile Again” to “Oh What A Difference Since The Hydro Came”, these songs will make audiences want to laugh, cry and sing and dance along.

Joyful Noise
April 18 to June 11, 2011
A recently widowed woman decides, for the first time in her life, to take up singing lessons. She finds she has very little in common with the young man who agrees to teach her, but both of them end up changing each other’s lives. A funny and touching musical.

Anne of Green Gables
September 20 to November 19, 2011
Canada's favourite musical in a special Smile Theatre adaptation by Smile Artistic Director Jim Betts. The unforgettable story of the world's most famous red-haired orphan, Anne Shirley, from her arrival at Green Gables to live with Matthew and Marilla Cuthbert, through her struggles to control her fiery temper, her run-ins with green hair dye and raspberry cordial, to her rivalry and romance with Gilbert Blythe. Featuring the songs "Gee, I'm Glad I'm No One Else But Me", "Ice Cream" and "Words".

'Tis The Season
November 29 to December 23, 2011
Smile Theatre's own Festival Of Lights. A selection of songs of the season – from the
inspirational to the outrageous. A warm blend of the familiar and the new, performed by some of Smile’s favourite performers. A wonderful way to brighten up Canada’s Bleak Midwinter. A Cast of 2. Note: We will be sending out two different companies of this production, so that we can visit all our interested venues throughout the holiday season. The two companies will perform slightly different versions of the show – one which will have a focus on Christmas material, another which will include material more appropriate for Hanukah.

Lavender Blue
January 16 to March 17, 2012
From the writer of The Light In Winnie’s Window comes a new Smile musical about friendship, patriotism and courage. Set against the background of the American Civil War, Lavender Blue is the story of two people – both Canadians – who meet by chance in an abandoned barn near the Mississippi border. Forced together for one night, and with the sound of gunfire never far away, these two very different travellers gradually learn each other’s astonishing stories. Full of both original and familiar songs, this fascinating new musical by Smile favourite Dinah Christie – based on a true story - will enchant, move and surprise you.

The Greatest Story Never Told: The Tale of Dan McGrew
March 26 to June 16, 2012
The Yukon Gold Rush of the late 19th Century was one of the most colourful and exciting periods in Canadian history. This new Smile musical combines the iconic poetry of Robert Service (The Shooting Of Dan McGrew, The Cremation Of Sam McGee), the fascinating true stories of Dawson City’s larger-than-life heroes and villains, and a great collection of period music, rag-time piano and original Canadian songs by Smile favourites Jim Betts, Cathy Elliott and many others. Our Smile audiences will be entertained by a fast-moving, joyful and sometimes ridiculous collection of songs, stories, light verse and tall tales.

Romeo And Juliet (And Joni)
September 24 to November 24, 2012
Smile Theatre is excited to bring our audiences a show unlike any other in Smile’s 40-year history - one of the world’s most romantic love stories, in a rare combination with the songs of one of Canada’s most beloved singer-songwriters. Shakespeare meets Joni Mitchell. Our audiences will hear some of the world’s most famous poetic dialogue blended with some of the most beautiful and haunting songs ever written. “A rose by any other name would smell as sweet” followed by “Both Sides Now”. “But, soft! what light through yonder window breaks?” followed by “The Circle Game”. Star-crossed lovers, youthful passion and energy, and a series of unforgettable songs.

Fireside Songs (2012)
November 27 to December 22, 2012
A Smile Concert show featuring favourite songs and favourite Smile performers. Songs our audiences both know and love, sung by performers who have been popular with our audiences through the years. A bright and happy hour to lighten the coming Winter.
